The CCMS track team traveled to Spencer Friday night to compete in the Sidney Boggs Memorial Meet at Roane County High School. The Mustangs boys’ team placed third in a competitive field of nine teams. Sawyer Dobbins was the team’s high scorer with 28 points. He won the 3200 meter run, setting a new Sidney Boggs Memorial Meet record and personal record with a time of 12:20. He also won the 800 meter run, and placed second in the 1600 meter, three seconds out of first.
Additionally, T.J. Quinn placed 5th in the 100 meter hurdles, 6th in the 200 meter hurdles, and 6th in the high jump. Shane Tracy placed 5th in the 3200 meter run and 6th in the 1600 meter. Daymian Pappas placed 5th in the high jump. Kane Nida placed 5th in the 200 meter hurdles. Brody Scarbro placed 6th in the 400 meter run. And Jackson Cliver placed 6th in the shot put. The relay teams also fared well. Logan Lautzenheiser, Kaden Fitzwater, Justin Nida and Ely Metheny placed second in the shuttle hurdle relay. Kayden Fitzwater, Adrian Davison, Justin Nida and Logan Lautzenheiser placed third in the 4×800 meter relay.
The 4×400 team of Brody Scarbro, Kane Nida, Daymian Pappas and T.J. Quinn placed third. And Daymian Pappas, Kayden Fitzwater, Logan Lautzenheiser and Ely Metheney placed fourth in the 4×200 meter relay. For the girls’ team, Jayda Pappas, Jana Adkins, Lexi Phillips and Tristina LaFever placed 6th in the 4×100 meter relay.
Best of the luck to the team as it prepares for a busy week, traveling to compete at Laidley Field on Tuesday and Thursday, and back to Roane County High School on Saturday, May 1.
