The CCHS track team is in the news again and is making waves in the track world. They competed this past Saturday at the Don Williams Memorial at Roane County. It was tough first competition for the team, but they stood out against some tough competition and had some great individual efforts. The boys placed 3rd in the Invitational while the ladies held their own finishing in 5th place.
This season the team will have some new boys that can chase deer down with their speed. Grant Young took first in the high jump with a jump of 5’ 6” and also took first in the 100 meter high hurdles and second in the 300 meter hurdles. The 4×200 relay team took first place, the the 4×110 shuttle hurdle team took 1st place and the 4×400 team took 3rd For the Lady Panthers, Jacey Collins took 2nd in the 300 meter hurdles and 3rd in the 100 meter hurdles. The 4×200 meter team took 3rd place, and the 4×102.5 shuttle hurdle team also placed 3rd.
