Hunters in West Virginia killed a total of 2,682 bears in the combined seasons of archery and firearms. According to Paul Johansen, the preliminary harvest was nearly identical to the 2012 harvest of 2,691 bears. Hunters took 851 bears during the 2013 archery season. 1,831 bears were killed during the firearm season. Wyoming County had 75 kills. They were the leading bear harvesters in the state this bear season. Clay had a total check in of 13 bears in the archery season and 24 in the firearm season.
