The Barn Restaurant will be open seven days a week and serves a variety of country foods.

There is a now a place to get some good food in Nebo!

The Barn Restaurant sits on the county line of Calhoun and Clay County in Nebo, WV.  This barn was built in 1934 by the late Ezra Metheney, who was a farmer that also enjoyed woodworking.  He made a number of things such as chairs, coffins, and headstones, while also running a grist mill.

Ezra’s son, Rocky Cadle, had always wanted to open a restaurant where he could cook, feed people, and visit with the young and old.  He was looking to retire from pipelining and set out with wife, Charlotte, to restore the barn into a gathering place of sorts for the community.

The barn, which just a few years ago still was being used for cattle and farming, slowly began to take shape into a restaurant for people to enjoy.  The wooden swings hanging inside are not only a nice place to relax, but they also back memories for Rocky since they were hand carved by his father. This passion has brought in many to look around the barn and makes for great conversation as you enjoy some good country food.

The barn is open from Monday through Saturday from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Their menu includes a lot of country fixings such as biscuits, gravy, creamed tomatoes, chocolate gravy, berry jam, fried potatoes, hamburgers, hot dogs, philly sandwiches, fish, pork chops and lots more. On Sunday’s there is a special for dinner.
