Mustangs keep the diamond hot

The Mustang baseball team had a rough start to the season, but they are coming into their own.  This week they went 1-2 locking horns with Braxton Middle and Valley Fayette.

First up was Braxton on Tuesday evening. The game went back and forth with both teams cracking the bat, but it was Braxton that had the upper hand and went on to win the game 8-5.  The game was full on action but the Mustangs came up three runs short.

Next up was Valley Fayette on Thursday evening. The Greyhounds generally take it on the chin when they meet up with the Mustangs, but this game would prove to be a little different.  Valley came out swinging and so did the Mustangs. Both teams got hits and played some good offense and defense.  When the dust settled, it was the Mustangs winning by the score of 7-5.

According to the WVSSAC web site the Mustangs only have four games remaining, but I will check into that.  The Mustangs will be taking their show on the road this week butting heads with Gilmer and Collins on Monday and Tuesday nights respectively.  Come out and support the Mustangs as they play all out every game.  Go Mustangs!
