Hello, I am Kari Osborne and I have lived in Clay County for the last twenty years. My education consists of a A.S. in Legal Office Administration, A.S. in Paralegal Studies, and a B.A. Board of Regents from WVU Tech.
I currently wear two hats at the Clay County Health Department. I am the Threat Prep Coordinator and Substance Abuse Prevention Treatment (SAPT) Coordinator. As the Threat Prep Coordinator, I plan, organize, promote and implement threat prepared programs to address public health concerns for mass dispensing and continuing operation plans. The SAPT Coordinator job promotes prevention efforts through major sectors, including youth, law enforcement, education, wellness, mental health services, primary care, health department and suicide prevention. I work closely with the Clay County Middle School’s SADD club, attend monthly coalition meetings, update social meeting on current substance abuse trends (underage drinking, marijuana, prescription drug abuse/misuse, substance exposed pregnancy prevention, and addressing stigma).
