Dana A. Dawson

Dana A. Dawson, 78, of Shreve, passed away Friday, March 15, 2019, at Wooster Community Hospital.

Dana was born July 23, 1940 in Clay County, to the late Hubert E. Flora Dawson.  He married Dora Ann Pierce on October 26, 1968 and she preceded her in death on April 8, 2016.

Dane honorably served his country in the U.S. Army.  He drove a bus in Washington D.C. serving stateside. Dane was employed as a slitter operator on stainless steel, first at Republic Steel and then other companies as they were bought and sold.  Dane was a private person who enjoyed spending time at home and taking care of his lawn.

He will be missed by his son and wife Darrell (Margarita) Dawson of Wooster; brother, Daniel (Nancy) Dawson of WV; and sister, Claudia O’Dell of Massillon.

Preceding Dane in death, in addition to his parents, was his wife and son Duane; brothers Dexter and Dudley; and sisters, Cledith, Chessie and Carmen.

Friends and family called Monday, March 19, at Schlabach Funeral Home, Shreve from 5 to 7 p.m. A graveside service was held Tuesday, March 19, at 3 p.m. at the H.E. Dawson Cemetery   on Twistabout Ridge, Clay County, WV.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Schlabach Funeral Home to help with expenses.
