It was a cold, rainy day in Clay on Saturday, but that didn’t stop Santa Claus from making several stops in town throughout the day.
Mr. Saint Nick was busy putting smiles on hundreds of children’s faces in town. His first stop was at the Catholic church in Maysel. For years this church has helped purchase toys for the children in the community. You could find many young boys and girls helping distribute gifts, and everyone was welcome to come see the man in red. Photos were offered for every child that stopped by. A big thank you to this group of hard-working individuals and the church for helping bring joy on Christmas morning to so many Clay County children.
As the day got underway you could find plenty to do at the annual town Christmas party. In the Lion’s Club building the kids could make ornaments and decorate crafts, as well as indulge in all the goodies, hot chocolate, and punch. At 2 p.m. the children were in amazement as Santa made his way to the party. Little ones were in awe as they told Santa what they wished for under their trees. Pictures were taken and memories made for these kids at another fun filled day brought to you by the town of Clay. Thank you to all the ones who make events like theses possible from year to year. You are greatly appreciated.
