Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil, that put darkness for light and light for darkness, that put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Isaiah 5:20.
Often we are fooled into believing that something wrong is right. We make excuses to ourselves, and then we proceed to do something we know to be wrong. When we do that we must be prepared to pay the consequences. It is much better to avoid risk and do those things that we know we should. Evil is being promoted at an alarming scale today.
We are living in evil times, and it is getting worse day by day. The Bible still condemns evil. new names have been invented to cover up and soften the blow of evil. From both our leaders and our religious leaders, people are shying away from speaking plainly against evil. instead of calling it evil, they have new names just to confuse and lighten the blow. 2 Peter 2:7-8 says, “and delivered just lot vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked, for that righteous man dwelling among them in seeing and hearing vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds.”
When we live for fun and self-indulgence we live for nothing lasting at all. Our lives need meaning. They need a foundation, they need God. He will help us to know what is right and wrong. When we see things that could harm us we should do everything in our power to avoid them. Evil is one such thing signs warn against. but if we will wake up to the danger of evil and the danger that is possible then we can avoid it and live a life of glory and peace. God has given us every opportunity.
It is refreshing to know that some people still take their moral values seriously enough to let them rule their lives. Rememeber, when we mock evil or sin and pretend that we can’t be hurt by it we are fooling ourselves. Sin has great power to hurt and destroy. The time to choose right over wrong is now. Where we will end up is completely up to us. How will we choose?
