A big thank you from your little cheerleaders

Clay County has always been a community that has supported one another. It’s a common scene to see bake sales, hot dog sales, and car washes as you enter town.

From local church groups, 4-H, and a variety of sports teams, you can always count on the community members and businesses to contribute to the cause at hand.

When the Clay County Intermediate Football cheerleaders needed new game uniforms for the 2018 season, the community proved, yet again, that you could count on them to meet that need.  These young athletes work very hard and put in long hours of practice to do what they are passionate about.  These girls, along with help from some of the football team, came out on their free Saturday to wash cars and sale baked goods to raise the funds needed to ensure they looked sharp on the sidelines, cheering on the little panthers. Along with raising money, they learned a valuable lesson in teamwork and working to reach a desired goal.

Local support is something you can count on in a small town like Clay. The CCPIF cheerleaders would like to express their gratitude to Clay Rite Aid for the use of their facilities for the car wash.  They would also like to thank the following businesses for their amazing support and generosity; Black Diamond Power Company, Penny Pinchers, Vonda Keener’s Beauty Shop, Nine’s Barber Shop, the Clay County Bank, and Sun Kissed Tanning.  Without the support from the community members and local businesses these sports and activities would not be possible.  You can always count on Clay County folks to make it possible for these kids to do the things they love and provide help when it is needed.
