“As you get older you find out that true happiness is not how much you make or how many degrees you have or how big your house is or how fancy your car is.  It’s finding peace and joy and a calmness in your life that will soon become the most important thing to you.  Your family and friends are what matters to you, love is what matters to you.  Things that are of quality, not quantity.” -Author Unknown

Clay Senior and Community Services Inc. is dedicated to showing their seniors what love and friendship is all about.  They are very involved with the seniors and have had several events lately that get them active and out in the community.

On Tuesday, June 19, they celebrated West Virginia’s birthday by doing their part to make Clay County shine. Seniors and staff alike participated in a trash pickup to clean up the community.

On June 15, many came out to enjoy a pancake breakfast in celebration of Father’s Day. Breakfast and coffee were provided along with friendly conversation among friends.  Takeout meals were available for purchase and all donations are being used for senior activities.

CSCS staff and seniors have been working hard setting up these fundraising activities. They have raised money through donations and yard sales, just to name a few. The funds raised so far have allowed them to participate in a three day convention at Cedar Lakes the first week of June, shopping trip to Flatwoods, bingo every Tuesday, cookouts, and more. All proceeds from these fundraisers go right back to the seniors of the community.
