Board of Education approves personnel

Clay County Board of Education held a regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, May 7, 2018.

After a motion was made to approve the agenda, the meeting proceeded with regular action items, including approving the minutes from the previous meeting, approving the payment of current bills, and hearing a financial update by Jennifer Paxton. Items 5,6,7 and 8 were tabled.

A motion to approve the employment of Rebecca Boggs and Grithel Burns as Multi-catagorical teachers for extended year services was approved. A motion to approve the employment of Gail Simmons as Autism Mentor Aide was approved. Items 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 were approved as one motion. These were to approve Elementary Summer School personnel, Secondary Summer School personnel, Elementary Afterschool personnel for the 2018-2019 school year, Secondary After School Personnel and Afterschool Site Coordinators for the 2018-2019 school year.

A motion to approve the classroom teacher reassignment of Erin Thomas from ELA Teacher at Clay County Middle School to Social Studies Teacher at Clay Middle School was approved. A motion to approve the resignation of Melonie Dolan as substitute teacher, substitute custodian and cook, effective immediately was approved. A motion to approve the out of state/overnight trip and help with expenses for Clay County High and Middle School TSA Students and Chaperones to attend National Conference in Atlanta, GA June 20, 2018 – June 26, 2018 was approved. A motion to approve Green River Group contractors to complete Bradley Field Flood Renovations in the amount of $1,072,450.00(FEMA Project) was approved. A motion to approve Flint Construction as Contractors to complete the following building renovations at Bradley Field and Clay County High School in the amount of $585,165.00 was approved ( Press Box, Dug out, bathroom renovations, CCHS –lower level and foundation) (FEMA Project).

A motion to approve the resignation of Kari Osborne as Special Education Teacher at Clay Elementary School, effective immediately was approved.
