Two fallen troopers were honored November 7th for their work on a federal methamphetamine investigation. U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin presented posthumous awards to State Police Cpl. Marshal Bailey and Trooper Eric Workman during the U.S. Attorney’s Law Enforcement and Victim Assistance Awards at the federal courthouse in Charleston.
Bailey and Workman had investigated Raymond Hersman of Wallback, before their untimely deaths. A federal jury found Hersman guilty of distributing more than 50 grams of meth in May. He reportedly intended to distribute more than 400 grams of meth near Gauley Bridge. Hersman is facing a mandatory minimum of 20 years when U.S. District Judge Thomas Johnston sentences him December 12, 2013.
