Clay County kids participate in Easter activities

This past weekend was a fun filled weekend! Enjoying time with family, attending Easter egg hunts, dinners with family, and attending church on Sunday to celebrate this Easter weekend were all items on the agenda! The list of fun that was had by families across the nation is endless.

A few Clay County residents put together an annual community egg hunt for the kids of Clay County at Clay County Park. Billie Koch, Ashley Truman, Josh Shamblin, Kris Gray, Sandra Samples and Randi Neal worked for weeks having an online auction and hot dog sales to raise money to make this event a success. There were about 300 people in attendance, 200 of those being kids full of excitement. Eight bikes were given away, along with four gift cards, 12 Easter baskets and lots of other smaller prizes! About 5,000 eggs were hidden for the kids to find.

Thank you to Clay Fire Department and Clay Ambulance Service for coming, and to the Easter Bunny for taking time out of his busy schedule to stop by!
