The Clay County Commission met on March 28, 2018. A motion to approve the minutes from the previous meeting was approved.

A motion to approve the bills and purchase orders as presented was approved. A motion to approve erroneous assessments as presented by the Assessor for Herbert Vance and Joseph Woods was approved. A motion to approve budget revisions was approved. A motion to approve a “request of waiver of final settlement” for the estate of Karen Korleen Hutchens, Jody Lee Thomas and Clarence Fitzwater, deceased, was approved. A motion to approve the “report of receipts, disbursements and distributions” report for the estate of Violet Luvina Murphy, deceased, and the release of Charles Edward Murphy, Executor, was approved. A motion to approve the appointment of John B. Brown, Administrator of the estate of Nora Jean Brown, deceased, was approved. A motion to confirm probating the last will and testament of Larry Edward Walters, deceased, and the appointment of Larry Matthew Walters, Executor, was approved. A motion to confirm probating the last will and testament of Jerry A. Hamrick, deceased, and the appointment of Jerry Hamrick, Jr. Executor, was approved. A motion to confirm probating the last will and testament of Alfred Allen Cantrell, Sr., deceased, and the appointment of Allen Cantrell, Executor, was approved.

A motion to approve the Clay County Commission as a co-sponsor of the Make-it-Shine clean-up day to be held on April 3, 2018 was approved. A motion to approve the Equipment Service contract for a Savin C4503 in the amount of $750, effective March 17, 2018 thru March 16, 2019 was approved. A motion to approve an audit report for Clay County – Fiscal year ended June 30, 2016 was approved. A motion to accept sealed bids for a tract of land known as Part Lot 18 and Easement (Tract 1) with a minimum bid of $30,000 was approved. Bids must be received by April 24, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. The County Commission reserves the rights to refuse any and all offers.
