The West Virginia Natural Resources Police will hold a Hunter Education Class in Clay County at the Clay County Middle School Cafeteria on March 17 – 18, 2018. On Saturday, March 17, the class is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday, March 18, class if from 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. Students must attend both days of the class and pass both a hands-on and written test to receive certification.

This is a minimum 10-hour course and students must attend all sessions to be certified. In 1994, West Virginia passed legislation that requires any person born on or after January 1, 1975 to present proof of certification from an approved Hunter Education course to the license agent every time a hunting license is purchased.

The course is open to the public and is free of charge. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or responsible adult. Students must be 10 years of age to receive permanent certification. There will be a one-hour lunch break on Saturday and lunch IS NOT provided.  Students should bring their own lunch or plan accordingly.

Class size is limited so pre-registration is required. If you would like to register or need additional information, please go to: http://register-ed.com or contact Sgt. Tim White or Misty at the WV DNR District III office at 304-924-6211 Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
