It was double header night at CCMS as Geary Middle school came to town Thursday evening ready to play.
It was the Lady Mustangs first up, and this game would prove to never over estimate an opponent, and always bring your A game to the courts. The Lady Mustangs came out in a fever pitch but was slow getting the ball into the hoops. Iva Taylor was top shot in the game with 15 points for the Lady Mustangs. At the end of the third period, Geary was one up on the Lady Mustangs 19-20. The Lady Mustangs got fired up in the 4th period, scoring 11 points. However, a young lady named Piper rocked the Lady Mustang world, scoring 13 points all by herself, and Geary defeated the Lady Mustangs by the score of 30-33.
Mourning their loss, it was time for the Mustang team to take the courts. There can’t be a lot said about this game other than it was a classic stomping. The Mustangs started their varsity then went all out bench and did this back and forth, and Geary had about as much of a chance as a lassoing a horse with a smoke ring. When the smoke cleared, the Mustangs were on top by the score of 72-5. Curtis Litton was once again top shot with 18 points, followed closely by Andrew Adkins with 16. Both the Lady Mustangs and the Mustangs will have a couple more tough matchups before the season ends and tournament play begins. If you get the chance, come out and catch a game.
