Thursday night was the football homecoming for the CCMS Mustangs.  They dominated the grid iron to defeat the Ravenswood Demons 12-6 in a defensive battle.

The Mustangs ground game, combined with superb blocking from the front line, took the game to the next level. The Demons just couldn’t overcome the defense of the Mustangs. This night, however, wasn’t just about the defense; the offence had game as well.

The Mustangs are a small team but they lack nothing in spirit.  The Demons were big and bad but not bad enough. The Mustangs have one last game of regular season and that’s against the always tough Spencer team this Thursday night at home. So, if you have a thirst for football at its finest, make your plans to head to the game.

This night wasn’t just about football – it was also time to announce the new football homecoming queen of CCMS. As the Mustang band set their tunes in the wind, the 6th, 7th and 8th grade representatives, princesses and princes strolled onto the field. As we all know, there can only be one queen, and as the tension rose the announcement was made. Ava Taylor’s name was announced to the cheers of the fans, and she became the 2017 CCMS Football Homecoming Queen.

Queen Taylor graciously accepted the crown as principal Leslie Goe placed it on her head.  She will no doubt be a queen that represents her school well. Her escort Ben Morton held the responsibility of being the queen’s bodyguard to a high level and was also named king. Congratulations to Queen Ava Taylor and the rest of her court.
