Clay County Commission met in regular session on Wednesday, May 10.
Once the minutes from the previous meeting were approved, the bills and purchase orders as presented were approved as well. A motion to approve an erroneous assessment for Matthew and Angela Carter, refunds of erroneous assessments and real estate divisions, as presented by the assessor, was approved.
A motion to confirm probating the last will and testament of Eleanor S. Walker and the appointment of Allie M. Walker, administrator CTA, was approved. A motion to confirm probating the last will and testament of William Lee Fisher Sr. and the appointment of Betty G. Fisher, executrix, was approved. A motion to confirm probating the last will and testament of Cletis Orville Fugate and the appointment of patty A. Fugate, administratrix CTA, was approved. A motion to approve the appointment of Brenda Kay Holcomb, administratrix of the estate of Craig Douglas Holcomb, deceased, was approved. A motion to approve the appointment of Iris Kay Sirk, administratrix of the estate of Louie Allen Sirk, deceased, was approved. A motion to approve the appointment of Joseph Estep, administrator of the estate of Wilmer Paul Estep, deceased, was approved. A motion to approve the appointment of Rickey Wayne Burnside, administrator for the estate of Shirley Burnside, deceased, was approved. A motion to approve the request of waiver of final settlement for the estate of Lona Jane Austin, deceased, was approved.
In other business, a motion to approve a request by the Golden Delicious Festival Committee to use the Clay County Courthouse courtyard, inside facilities and restrooms during their 2017 festival was approved. They must provide a certificate of liability listing the county commission as other insured.
A motion to approve a maintenance agreement for a Savin MP4054 copier located in the circuit clerk’s office as prepared by Appalachian Office Products, was approved. The contract is for April 29, 2017, through April 28, 2018. Also, a motion to approve a maintenance agreement for a Savin C9020 copier located in the circuit clerk’s office as prepared by Appalachian Office Products, was approved. The contract is for April 29, 2017, thru April 28, 2018. A motion to hire Cintas to provide cleaning supplies, rugs and paper products for both courthouses, was approved.
A motion to approve a list of delinquent real and personal property taxes for tax year 2016, as presented by Sheriff Triplett, was approved.
