Wanita Gray

Clay — Wanita Gray, 78, of Clay passed away Monday, April 3, 2017.

Born May 28, 1938, in Ovapa, she was the daughter, of the late Homer and Myrtle Oxley.  In addition to her parents, Wanita was preceded in death by her brothers, Oral, Homer Jr., Boyd Ray, Delbert, Calley and Hubert; and sisters, Leona, Wanda and Mildred.

Wanita is survived by her husband, Auddis “Bum” Gray, of Clay; son, Michael (Mary) Gray of Virginia; brother, Kermit (Sharon) Oxley of Michigan; sisters, Audrey Gillenwater of Texas and Ernie Eastman of South Carolina; four grandchildren, Michael W. (Cassie) Gray Jr. of West Virginia, Sabrina (Jason) Taylor of Ohio, Christopher (Linnea) Ball of Georgia, Michael (Kristina) Ball of West Virginia and Melanie Nisbett of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service were held at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2017, at Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home, Clay, with Minister Dennis Legg officiating.  Burial was in Clay Memorial Gardens, Clay.

Friends gathered with family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
