Long Before the gospel was written

The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament sheweth his handiwork.

Psalm 19:1. Long before the gospel was written in sacred scriptures, it was written in the sky dotted by dazzling stars and highlighted by the blazing sun and the gentle glow of the moon. The power, presence, and personality of God are evident in all his creation. The heavens declare the glory of God. To every person, every day, and even to those who have never read a bible or heard a preacher. The fool has said in his heart there is no God. Psalm 14:1. Yet all creation says that anyone who can see the sky can know of God. Paul wrote, for since the creation of the world his invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made even his eternal power and godhead so that they are without excuse. Romans 1:20.

In the Bible God uses his creation to teach and explain.

He told Abraham to look toward heaven and count the stars if he was able. The stars represented the promised descendants, Gen. 22:17. The moon and the sun witness his faithfulness to the covenant he has made with Israel. Psalm 89:34-37. He led the wise men from the East by a star matt. 2:2. God uses the stars to declare the glory he gives to soul winners. Dan 12:3. God will use the sun, moon and stars to announce the second coming of Christ, and because of his promises I follow the bright and morning star. Rev. 22:16.

When we look to the heavens let us sing the old song How Great Thou Art. O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder consider all the worlds thy hands have made. I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, thy power throughout the universe displayed. Then sings my soul, my savior God to thee, How great thou art, how great thou art! God’s goodness is more powerful than Satan’s evil. Nothing can stop the Gospel now!
