Time magazine came out today and on the front page of their publication used the phrase “the divided states of America.” I do not believe that we as a people are divided. We have differences of opinions and differences of methods of getting to our destination but I do not believe we are divided.
Basically we have two political parties. The Democrats have one agenda and the Republicans have another. They are different, but I believe and pray that they both have the people of this great nation at the heart of their agendas.
It seems to me that the news media has taken it upon themselves to fan any flame that causes pain, division or embarrassment. I must be wrong but I thought their purpose was to report the facts, not their opinion or commentary of what it might mean, especially if it is in the future and not factual yet.
A potential problem is seen on the horizon but instead of the news media reporting on the potential problem it seems the airways are filled with experts spewing out their opinions. When a decision is made, the vultures fill the skies and descend to nitpick and find fault. It’s kind of like some of the sports announcers, particularly regarding football. You will hear them say “they shouldn’t have made that call,” or “they should have done this or that.” The coach has worked with his team and knows their potential more that that person sitting in the booth watching. Everyone makes mistakes no matter how qualified or knowledgeable they are.
As a nation we need to return to the Word of God and our Constitution and follow its wisdom and guidelines. The Baptists and the Methodists and the Pentecostals may not agree on theology but they all agree that Jesus is the Son of God and that He is the way to salvation and Heaven. Why? It is what the Bible says. Why does that make a difference? God, Almighty God is the Author. Acts change and you and I may miss it here and there but God’s Word is truth and does not change because God does not change. There is no doubt in my mind that God gave us our Constitution. Compare it with other nations that have tried to be like we are. Their constitutions and governments keep changing but none compares With the Unites States of America. Our nation is the only nation that was formed by a people seeking God as their highest priority. God has blessed us accordingly. God bless America.
Maranatha!
