United Way of Central West Virginia is holding a grant-making information series to help various agencies determine if they qualify for funding. The Charleston coin club will hold their annual coin show to be held Saturday, November 5,and Sunday, November 6, at the Charleston Civic Center, in Charleston. The show will be held from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sunday. There is no admission fee. Dealers from West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky will be in attendance to buy, sell, and trade coins and coal mine scrip. The Braxton County Soccer Club will hold their Annual Meeting on Sunday, December 4, at 3 p.m. at the Sutton Community Building (Date, Time and Location are subject to change). We will be voting on by-laws amendments, reviewing the financial status and audit report, as well as voting in the following officers: vice president, secretary and league rep for a two-year term and filling the empty positions of registrar and referee coordinator for the remaining year of the unexpired terms. Monday after-school tutoring takes place every Monday at the Lizemores Church of the Nazarene from 4-6 p.m. Students who need help with homework or extra skills practice can come by Lizemores Nazarene and be assisted by teachers and other volunteers. The Women, Infants and Children Nutrition Program (WIC) is a supplemental foods program for pregnant, postpartum or breastfeeding women, infants and children, under the age of 5.
