Sherry Caroline Henry

Uniontown, OH– Sherry Caroline Henry, 54, of Uniontown, OH, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 29, 2016, after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Born July 31, 1962, in Gassaway, she was the daughter of John Canfield of Harrison and the late Agusta May (Graham) Canfield.
Sherry spent her childhood and teenage years exploring the hills of Harrison; she excelled as a basketball player at Clay County High School where she graduated in 1980. After graduating from high school, she moved to Ohio where achieved her greatest accomplishment; becoming a loving and devoted mother and homemaker. Sherry had an infectious smile and had a heart full of love and compassion; she made it look effortless as she was able to make friends wherever she would go.
In addition to her father, Sherry is survived by husband, Roger Burkhamer of Uniontown; sons, Joseph Henry of Uniontown, Andrew (Kristin) Henry of Norton, OH,  and Alexander Henry of Uniontown; daughter, Heather (Steve) Henry – Raptis of Akron, OH; brothers, Franklin (Kathie) Canfield, Jerrell (Patty) Canfield, all of Webster Springs, Jackie (Joyce) Canfield of Dille; sisters, Sheila Canfield of Harrison, Sharon (Charlie) Tinney of Bedford, KY, Melody (Jim) Golden of Weirton; three grandchildren, Brendan Henry, Cohen Henry and Gracie Mae Schillinger; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Akron General VNS hospice center in Fairlawn, OH, for the care, compassion, and consideration given during our time of need. We would also like to thank BJ and the rest of the staff at Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home for arranging her services from afar and also to Minister Wayne Litton for performing her service.  May God bless you all.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 2, 2016, at Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home, Clay, with Minister Wayne Litton officiating. Burial was in the Canfield Cemetery, Harrison.
Friends gathered with family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
On-line condolences may be sent to the family at www.carwilsonfuneralhome.com.
