The American Red Cross will continue to support families impacted by the flooding throughout West Virginia for the days, weeks, months and years to come. The Red Cross wants to ensure all impacted individuals have the opportunity to be connected with a Red Cross caseworker. Anyone impacted that hasn’t spoken with a Red Cross caseworker is encouraged to call 1-855-224-2490. “The Red Cross needs to hear from those impacted to ensure we can support them and their family, community and state as we begin to recover from so much devastating loss. We want to ensure each family has the opportunity to meet with a Red Cross caseworker today,” says Erica Mani, Chief Executive Officer for the American Red Cross West Virginia Region.
Calling the phone number above will allow Red Cross caseworkers to meet personally with those impacted by the flooding to provide access to resources and tools to support individual recovery. Caseworkers have been meeting one-on-one with people after the flood to provide access to resources and tools to support individual recovery. In addition to being advocates for the people they work with, caseworkers can provide referrals to government and community programs, help fill out paperwork, and assist with each family’s unique recovery planning. The Red Cross collaborates with partner organizations to coordinate recovery resources such as the multi-agency Client Assistance Network (CAN), so it is important for families to reach out to the Red Cross today. Disaster recovery is often measured in months and years; and the Red Cross will be here to provide hope, comfort and one-on-one support during that time.
