West Virginia Senators Doug Facemire and Mike Romano announced today that Florida State Head Football Coach Jimbo Fisher, Alabama Head Football Coach Nick Saban along with Florida State Assistant Head Coach Rick Trickett and other coaching staff will be at the Clay County High School in Clay, West Virginia at noon on Wednesday, July 13, to make a special presentation supporting the area football teams affected by the flooding in southern West Virginia.
U.S. Senator Joe Manchin will join the group which will announce the donation of complete football uniforms by football teams from across the country in response the disaster. The gift of these uniforms will help to ensure that area schools can field football teams this fall.
Senator Doug Facmire said, “This effort by these great coaches is an example of the kindness and concern that all West Virginians have for one another. For these coaches to return to West Virginia in our time of need says a lot about the people that this Great State produces.”
The schools affected include Clay County, Elkview Middle, Herbert Hoover, Richwood and Richwood Middle School. The uniforms will be distributed with the cooperation of the SSAC and the WV National Guard.
United States Senator Joe Manchin remarked, “How fortunate we are to have these men, who I proudly call my friends, that have never forgotten where they came from or the people that live here in our State.” The public is welcome to attend the presentation.
