Delmer B. “Bud” McGlothlin

Newton, WV – Delmer B. ‘Bud’ McGlothlin, 72, of Newton, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at the Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.
He was born June 22, 1943 at Widen, a son of the late Dow and Virgie Cottrell McGlothlin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Claire Ann Taylor McGlothlin; a son, Christopher Bert McGlothlin; a daughter, Kristie Jean Thorne; a brother, Coy McGlothlin; and a sister, Lulabelle Chapman.
Bud was a retired miner and a member of the Linden Lodge No. 83, A.F. & A.M., Linden.
Survivors include a son, Brian McGlothlin of Newton; a daughter, Donna McGlothlin Moore of Walton; a son-in-law, Tony Thorne of Newton; brother, Mike McGlothlin of Newton; sisters, Pat McGlothlin of Cleveland, Ohio, Ann Dye of Newton and Faye Towner of Caldwell, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Brian Alan McGlothlin, Jr., Justin Scott McGlothlin, Nicole McGlothlin, Brooke McGlothlin, Rocky Boone, Alan Paxton, Makayla Thorne and Ty Thorne; four great grandchildren, Anthony, Serenity, Briana, and Gabriel McGlothlin; special friend, Betty Sorrell of Newton; many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, June 12 at the Parker Cemetery, Newton, with the Rev. Ronald W. Fisher officiating.
