Free Boating Education Course Offered

The WV Division of Natural Resources will hold a Boating Education Class for Braxton & Clay Counties at the Monogahela Power Building in Gassaway WV. The class will be held on 06-07 June 2016 from 5 pm to 9 pm. Students must attend all hours, both days.
This is a 7-hour course and students must attend all sessions to be certified.  In 1998 West Virginia passed legislation that requires any person born after December 31, 1986 to successfully complete an approved Boating Education Course before operating a motorboat or PWC in the State of West Virginia.
The course is open to the public and is free of charge. Any age individual may attend, however only students at least 11 years of age that have passed the test will receive a certificate of completion.  Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or responsible adult.
