Roger Clarence White

Frametown, WV – Roger Clarence White, 68, of Frametown, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, April 30, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born September 12, 1947 in Clay, he was the son of the late Harley White and Ethel “Cricket” (Smith) White. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother, John.
Roger is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl (Croft) White of Frametown; son, Brett White of Morgantown; daughter, Kelly White of Lorain, Oh; three grandchildren, Stephanie, Jesse and Jason.
Roger served proudly in the United States Army during the conflict in Vietnam and was honorably discharged.
He was a master electrician and spent 15 years at American Steel and Wire in Cleveland, OH. Roger worked for numerous companies throughout the state of West Virginia and was a proud member of IBEW Local 26 Electrical Workers Union. He had a deeply held work ethic and loved his profession. He worked tirelessly until his retirement in 2014.
Roger was voracious reader of westerns and an avid sportsman. He loved his home in West Virginia and never felt more comfortable than on his family farm in Frametown.
Per Roger’s wishes, he will be cremated and laid to rest at little Laurel Baptist Church in Ivydale next to his parents and many relatives. There will be no services.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that contributions be made in Roger’s name to the Fisher House of Pittsburgh, 3945 Forbes Ave, Box 240, Pittsburgh, PA 15213. This special home allowed Cheryl to stay with Roger during his illness and provided tremendous support to the family during this difficult time.
